In the Community

I'm a huge believer in using your influence in a positive way and think it's important to give back to the community --  and encouraging others to get involved too. My parents always taught me the importance of being kind and giving back to others and I try to teach my daughters this same message. I am proud to help with volunteering and/or fundraising for many charitable organizations individually, through radio and as a member of the National Charity League. Some of my favorite include:

Cinderella Dreams Project (co-founded) - Collect formal gowns and donate them to high school girls who may not otherwise be able to afford to attend prom.

Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation - broadcasting for book collection; sorting books for donations through Houston Library

Feed Richmond - Broadcast and collect food and money for the Central Virginia Food Bank. Together with Summit Media Corp, we were able to collect more than 200,000 meals for the hungry in Richmond each year..

Making Music Matter (co-created) - Charity created to provide musical instruments to local schools who have had their fine arts budgets cut or eliminated.

C.A.R.I.T.A.S. - Prepare and serve food for homeless families in Richmond.

Susan G. Komen For the Cure - Volunteer for several fundraisers to fight breast cancer, including Race for the Cure and 103.7 the River's Boobie Bowl.

Hamaganza - Singing in a "celebrity" band at Christmastime each year to raise money for FeedMore.

I have also enjoy working with programs like REAL Life, Children's Hospital at VCU, Safe Harbor Women's Shelter, Make-A-Wish, Red Cross, Hitting Cancer Below The Belt, VCU Massey Cancer Center, St. Baldrick's Foundation, FeedMoore's Backpack Program, Anthem LemonAid, Connor's Heroes and more.

I'm always happy to do what I can to donate my time, so if you need a guest speaker, emcee, volunteer or I can help your charitable organization in some way, please let me know!
